Louis B. Richmond
Senior Advisor

Founder and CEO Louis Richmond sets the tone for RPR's style. Studying cello at the Eastman School of Music and Temple University, Richmond started his career as a cellist in the National Symphony in Washington, DC. Followed by years of teaching cello at several universities, Richmond launched into creating and conducting two chamber orchestras that are still in existence -- the Nevada Chamber Orchestra in Reno and the Northwest Chamber Orchestra in Seattle. Richmond performed with many of today's superstars and hired Kenny G for his first paid professional job in music as a saxophonist at the historic Paramount Theatre in Seattle.

Richmond began RPR in 1992 after working at the Alexis Hotel and the Sheraton Seattle Hotel & Towers in the fields of marketing and public relations. During his tenure at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel & Towers, Richmond won 25 awards for excellence in public relations and was named Public Relations Director of the Year by the North American Division of the Sheraton Corporation in 1988. Richmond authored a chapter in Hotel Management and Operations, "Putting the Public in Public Relations," read by students throughout the country in Hotel Management programs.

An avid runner, Richmond has completed 49 marathons in the United States and Canada. A train buff and an avid reader of newspapers, journals, and magazines, he frequently lectures throughout the country on "The Importance of Using an Ethical Approach to Public Relations." Richmond currently belongs to SWATCH The Club and holds membership number 10010158346. He resides in Seattle's North Beach neighborhood with his wife, Betty Ann.
